Chinese New Year 2026 falls between 15-17 February 2026. Many people have asked Astrologer Toshaporn about worshiping the God of Wealth, "Cai Shen Ye." Which day, how to worship, what offerings to use, and which direction to face? Astrologer Toshaporn revealed
In the morning, set up the altar as usual: worship the gods in the morning, ancestors at noon, spirits without relatives in the afternoon, and at night worship the God of Wealth to request blessings. The Chinese New Year begins then. Worship can start from 11:00 PM on 16 February, between 23:00 and 01:00, continuing into the morning of the 17th. Face south, and use vegetarian food offerings—do not use meat.
Additionally, Astrologer Toshaporn said we can bring financial-related items to ask for wealth blessings, such as old and new wallets, cleaned and cleared of slips to avoid blocking wealth flow. These can be placed on the altar as well.
For those wanting extra good fortune after worship, sprinkle clean water and pomegranate leaves on the offerings, wallets, and other items like fruit. After worship, share the offerings by eating them together, which marks a good start to the new year.
However, Astrologer Toshaporn concluded that a prohibition when worshiping the God of Wealth is for people born in the Zodiac Conflict Year 2026, the Year of the Rat. "People born in the Year of the Rat must not be the first to worship."
