Luang Pho Kreep Small Head Amulet from Wat Somtha, Chonburi, Priced at 1.2 Million Baht

Luang Pho Kreep was a monk from Chonburi Province, contemporary with Luang Pho Jiam of Wat Kamphaeng. Born in 1857 during King Rama IV's reign, he was skilled in delivering the Mahachat sermon and played a vital role in advancing monastic education, significantly contributing to the growth of Buddhism in Chonburi. He was widely respected by devotees and passed away in 1918 at the age of 66.

Creation of the Phra Pidta Amulet

His close connection with Luang Pho Jiam of Wat Kamphaeng likely influenced his amulet-making. Back then, the temple boundaries were adjacent, separated only by a few houses and forest. He created powder-based Phra Pidta amulets similar to Luang Pho Jiam's. The amulets are of fine, aged material with a brown coconut shell-like texture.

Amulet Designs

The Phra Pidta amulets of Luang Pho Kreep can be classified into the following types:

Maha Udt mold, popular "large head" version with a rounded back and yantra (sacred script) on the reverse.

Maha Udt mold, popular "small head" version with both rounded back and yantra back variants.

Material: Fine texture.

Colors range from light to dark brown with a coconut shell-like texture, typical of Phra Pidta amulets from Chonburi.

Luang Pho Kreep's Phra Pidta amulets have long been popular and are considered premier amulets among Chonburi residents. Known as the "Top General of Phra Pidta" in Chonburi, it is said that if one cannot find Phra Pidta amulets from Luang Pho Kaew, Luang Pho Phu, or Luang Pho Jiam, having one from Luang Pho Kreep is never disappointing.
