
Phra Somdej from Bang Khun Prom Shrine is among the most popular sacred objects in Thailand. It was found in the main stupa of Wat Mai Amataros and was created by Somdet Phutthachan (Toh Prommarangsi).
The shrine was first opened around 1882-1885, known as the old shrine, and last opened in 1957, called the new shrine. Today, Phra Somdej Bang Khun Prom amulets are extremely rare.
The composition of Phra Somdej Bang Khun Prom is similar to that of Somdej Wat Rakang, consisting of five sacred powders: Patthamang, Itthaje, Maharaj, Phutthakun, and Trinisinkha. Additionally, lime, cooked rice, banana, flower pollen, sesame, and oil are included in every piece.
