
Phra Somdej from the Bang Khun Phrom cache ranks among the most popular sacred objects in Thailand. It was found in the large chedi of Wat Mai Amataros and was created by Somdej Phutthachan (Toh Prommarangsi).
The cache was first opened around 1882-1885 CE, known as the old cache, and last opened in 1957 CE, called the new cache. Today, Phra Somdej Bang Khun Phrom amulets are extremely rare.
The composition of Phra Somdej Bang Khun Phrom is similar to that of Somdej Wat Rakang, containing five sacred powders: Patthamang, Ithaje, Maharaj, Phutthakun, and Trinisighe. Additionally, lime, cooked rice, banana, flower pollen, sesame seeds, and oil are included in every piece.
