Luang Pho Phang Jittakutto of Udomkongkha Kiriket Temple in Khon Kaen Province issued the 1978 commemorative coin honoring the replica of Phra Buddha Chinnarat.
On 7 February 1978, the gold coin, locally also known as the "Ghost Repeller" coin, was released.
At that time, in Phra Yuen district, there was an elderly woman possessed by a spirit. It took four to five men to restrain her, barely managing to do so. When they hung the coin from this edition around her neck, she immediately screamed even before the coin touched her, and the spirit astonishingly left. This is the origin of the "Ghost Repeller" coin.
