Luang Pho Ngern 80th Anniversary Gold Oval Medal, 1970

Produced together with the Phra Kring Pan Tamlueng, the medals come in two shapes.

1. Elongated oval base shape (long oval).

2. Oval shape.

According to documented sources, this medal series was produced in all materials, molds, and designs totaling about 80,080 pieces. Of these, 20,000 were given away free on the event day, limited to one medal per person. To manage the large demand, temple officials issued queue cards for distribution, as more than 20,000 people came to claim medals. This demonstrates how renowned Luang Pho Ngern was at the time. The production included 801 gold medals, 2,500 silver medals, and the remainder in copper and a mixed metal alloy called Nawa.

This medal series has two main mold types:

1. Single-sided mold, with four variations:

1.1 Gold mold.

1.2 Crescent mold.

1.3 Rain streak mold.

1.4 Long oval mold.

2. Double-sided mold.

2.1 Nawa alloy (two-sided medal with different designs on each side).

2.2 Blackened copper (two-sided medal with the same design on both sides).

2.3 Gold-plated copper (two-sided medal with the same design on both sides).

Additionally, there are a small number of single-sided Nawa alloy medals, likely resulting from the factory mistakenly using Nawa alloy sheets instead of copper for stamping, producing these rare single-sided Nawa medals.
