Phra Somdej from the Bang Khun Phrom Chedi is among the most popular sacred objects in Thailand. Found in the main pagoda of Wat Mai Amataros, it was created by Somdej Phutthachan (Toh Phrommarangsi).
The first opening of the batch occurred around 1882-1885 CE, called the old batch. The final opening happened in 1957 CE, known as the new batch. Today, Phra Somdej Bang Khun Phrom amulets are extremely rare.
The material composition of Phra Somdej Bang Khun Phrom is similar to that of Somdej Wat Rakang, containing five special powders: Patthamang, Ithaje, Maharaj, Phutthakun, and Trinisighe. Additionally, lime, cooked rice, banana, flower pollen, sesame, and oil are included in every piece.
