Amavasya Day (New Moon Day) 2026 GMT+7. 2026 GMT+7. "Pray for the First Moon Money" marks the year's first auspicious time on 19 January 2026 at 02:52 GMT+7. This new moon day is believed to be the most powerful day for the moon's energy, offering a secret to wealth on this new moon.
On the day of "Amavasya" (New Moon Day) occurs every month; it is the day of the new moon, meaning the lunar dark day when heaven, the human world, and the underworld are believed to be connected. It is believed that on this new moon day, the moon shines with the greatest power. Performing the moon money prayer ritual on this day, or reciting prayers before sleep while doing only good deeds, is said to ensure smooth financial flow for one month until the next new moon.
On this auspicious day, one should perform rituals to inaugurate wealth and do only good deeds. Prayers can be started 12 hours before and continue up to 12 hours after the exact auspicious time. Certain prohibitions also apply.
1. Clean your wallet by discarding trash, receipts, or unused items.
2. Arrange your banknotes neatly, placing money in amounts you prefer or auspicious numbers.
3. After placing the money in your wallet and finishing the prayer, do not spend the money in the wallet within 24 hours. (If uncomfortable, keep the money you intend to use outside that wallet.)
4. Do not lend money to anyone on this day under any circumstances.
