Produced to commemorate the royal consecration of the royal temple on the occasion of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej's 60th anniversary of reign. The king graciously elevated Wat Phutthaisawan to a royal temple on 23 June 2006 GMT+7, naming the coin "Nuea Duang."
The 'Nuea Duang' coin, also called the status elevation coin, was first consecrated by Luang Por Atichot, invoking the spiritual power of Lord Phor Jatukam Ramathep and conducting the chanting ceremony at the Lord Phor Jatukam Ramathep shrine in Wat Phutthaisawan on 15 August 2006 GMT+7 at 20:09. The second ceremony was a Buddhist consecration at Wat Phutthaisawan on 20 August 2006 GMT+7 at 14:19, with 16 venerable monks presiding in meditation and chanting.
