“Luang Pho Derm Phutthasaro,” also known as “Phra Kru Niwat Thammakhan,” is a highly respected and famous monk in the upper central region.

He created various sacred objects and amulets that have all been very popular, including coins, enchanted surgical knives, Nang Kwak figurines, lion figures, takrut scrolls, talismanic cloth insoles, and rings.

The “Stamped Portrait Image of Luang Pho Derm, Tight Neck Edition” is another sacred object from Luang Pho Derm that is nearly as popular as the “Stamped Portrait Popular Edition.”

The popularity of the stamped portrait Tight Neck edition may stem from its easier identification and the fact that it was made before the popular edition, as documented in its production history.

The stamped portrait of Luang Pho Derm, Tight Neck edition, was made exclusively from brass, with no more than 1,000 pieces produced.

The image is a full-body stamped portrait of Luang Pho Derm seated in meditation above a butcher-block-style base. It has a natural appearance, with a larger head and torso, a less refined face than the popular edition, and a plump neck featuring two thick ridges adjacent to the chin, giving the face a lifted look.

A key distinctive feature is the tight neck, which gives the edition its name. The base bears the Thai inscription “Luang Pho Derm.” This edition can be subdivided into two blocks: one with a short-tailed “ng” character or tight robe folds, and the other with a long-tailed “ng” character or looser robe folds.

On the back and base of the portrait, the lower robe area shows filing marks, including the elbow region. The nape often has an indentation. Bases appear in both round and square shapes, reflecting the work of multiple craftsmen with varying skills. Most bases bear inscription marks underneath.

The stamped portrait, Tight Neck edition, possesses comprehensive spiritual benefits and is highly sought after among amulet enthusiasts.
