The first edition of Narai on Garuda standing on Rahu amulet was created in 2005, featuring Narai on Garuda standing atop Rahu according to the design.
His Holiness Somdet Phra Maha Ratchamongkhon Muni (Thongchai) of Wat Traimit.
The Rahu Amulet is believed to provide protection from various dangers when one’s fortune declines. Rahu is said to help correct and support one’s fate back to good. Those who use Rahu coconut shell carvings are believed to be shielded from harm during unlucky periods. The Rahu shell is said to remedy and elevate fortunes to their original state. It is also effective in turning animosity into affection and enhancing charm and wealth, rivaling any master’s power.

The front features Narai on Garuda, symbolizing great power, standing on Rahu. Above is the image of a nine-headed Naga, symbolizing Saturn Deva, a celestial planet allied with Rahu. This represents the transformation of Rahu’s harmful influence into a positive force through Narai’s power, suppressing Rahu’s negative energy and supporting one’s destiny.
The back displays the seal of Bangkok city at the top, with the Moonlight Bodhisattva yantra on the lower left and the Sunlight Bodhisattva yantra on the lower right — together known as the Sun-Moon yantra, a supreme protective symbol that brings luck and fortune.
This edition was made following ancient scriptures and has been created at important historical sites of the nation, such as temple gables and crematoria of old temples that survived enemy attacks. It is believed this was due to the power of Narai on Garuda standing on Rahu placed on the gable. Astrology texts recount the legend of the nine planetary deities, philosophically explaining that Rahu is immortal and invincible but must yield to Narai, who used his discus to sever Rahu’s head into two parts.
Therefore, Rahu fears the power of Narai. Astrology states Rahu influences every human’s fate, bringing both benefit and harm. If Rahu is auspicious, it can bring wealth, power, and prominence. If inauspicious or incompatible with one’s horoscope, it may cause unexpected hardships and problems, even threatening life. Rahu’s influence is swift and intense, changing zodiac signs every one and a half years, making it unavoidable.
Thus, Narai on Garuda standing on Rahu was created according to the Kaalachakra scripture to suppress Rahu’s harmful power, easing its negative impact on one’s destiny. It was the first edition of a sacred object designed astrologically to counteract the harmful forces of Rahu and Saturn. The amulet was consecrated with Buddhist mantras, protective chants, and royal incantations, including the ancient nine planetary deities’ ritual, at the ordination hall of Wat Traimit.
