The origin story of Luang Pho Pan's clay amulets.

Creation and beliefs: Luang Pho Pan made clay amulets to continue the Buddhist faith by mixing five sacred powders—Buddha's virtues, Dhamma virtues, Sangha virtues, the virtues of the Paccekabuddha, and the essence of the Tripitaka scriptures—into the amulets, making them highly sacred. The Garuda power refers to Luang Pho Pan's Garuda-type amulet, reputed for its great authority and ability to inspire fear.



Biography of Luang Pho Pan.

He was born on 16 July 1875 and had six siblings. His father's name was Aj Sutthawong, and his mother's name was Im Sutthawong.

His family was engaged in farming. His parents named him 'Pan' because he had a distinctive red birthmark on the little finger of his left hand, extending from the base to the tip.

He was born in Village No. 5, Bang Nom Kho Subdistrict, Sena District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.

He was ordained at age 21 on 1 April 1895 (Monday, the 7th day of the waxing moon, 5th lunar month, Year of the Goat). His preceptor was Luang Pho Sun of Wat Bang Pla Mo; his chanting instructor was Phra Ajarn Choi of Wat Ban Paen; his witness was Phra Ajarn Oon of Wat Suthapoch. He received the monastic name 'Sonantho'.

The Luang Pho Pan amulets from Wat Bang Nom Kho, Bang Nom Kho Subdistrict, Sena District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, are well known among amulet collectors, especially in recent times.

"Chickens for earning" refers to chicken-shaped amulets, believed to bring loving-kindness and success in occupations involving frequent interaction with people.

"Hedgehogs for forest roaming" refers to hedgehog-shaped amulets, thought to protect against dangers and supernatural threats in forests, suitable for those working closely with wild forests.

"Fish for trading" refers to fish-shaped amulets, believed to bring success in commerce, especially waterborne trade.

"Garuda for power" refers to Garuda-shaped amulets, reputed for great authority and the ability to inspire fear.

"Hanuman for civil service" refers to Hanuman-shaped amulets, believed to aid success in civil service.

This includes those working in government positions and various other hired occupations.
