Phra Khun Paen from Ban Krang Temple.

A sacred amulet from the land of the Elephant Battle.

Ban Krang Temple in Si Prachan District, Suphanburi Province, is the site where the largest find of Phra Khun Paen amulets in Suphanburi was made. Tens of thousands of these amulets were found in a pile at Ban Krang Temple when a pagoda collapsed around 1902 CE.

All the Phra Khun Paen amulets from Ban Krang Temple are made of terracotta, ranging from coarse to fine textures with a soft appearance. Some were lacquered and gilded while still in the pagoda. These amulets are all considered to be classic Ayutthaya-style art.

(From the reign of King Naresuan the Great, around 1594 CE) This batch of amulets is the most famous and historically renowned for its powerful spiritual qualities, especially for charm, popularity, and invulnerability. Thousands of people have experienced its effects.
