The lead alloy cast amulet of Luang Pu Suk from Wat Pak Khlong Makham Thao was created and consecrated for Wat Som Siao. It was intended to be given to those who donated funds to restore the temple's buildings. At that time, Luang Por Noi was the abbot and was close to Luang Pu Suk, who therefore made this amulet to present to Luang Por Noi for distribution at Wat Som Siao.
This amulet is made of lead alloy. The front depicts a seated Buddha in full meditation posture on a double-tiered base, with a halo around the Buddha's head and a frame resembling a glass shrine on the sides. The back features a concave elephant’s belly indentation with wrinkles resembling fabric patterns, along with sacred inscriptions handwritten by Luang Pu Suk.
Luang Pu Suk's amulets are believed to grant both great charm and protection, including invincibility.
Wat Som Siao is located in Banphot Phisai District, Nakhon Sawan Province, situated within the district market area.
Judging by the temple’s buildings and its expansive grounds, it is clear that Wat Som Siao has prospered from the past to the present. Inside, one can see a Chinese-style pavilion, a four-sided ordination hall, and the monks' quarters tucked behind, embraced by lush trees, creating a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.
The Chinese-style pavilion at the front houses a life-sized bronze statue of Phra Kru Nirutithamthorn (Luang Por Noi), the former abbot of Wat Som Siao, who passed away in 1937 CE. A stone inscription detailing his virtuous deeds is displayed at the pavilion's entrance. Luang Por Noi’s birth name was “Keng Lee.” His father was Yuan Piao and his mother Praeng. He was born in 1867 CE in Ban Som Siao. In his youth, he studied Chinese at the Ban Sakae Chinese school and Thai with Phra Ajarn Jong. He previously served as a tax officer for a government-monopolized tax collector. He was ordained at age 22 at Wat Bang Ta Ngai Nuea with the monastic name “Dhammachoto.”
He resided for the rains retreat at Wat Ban Kaeng, Wat Bot in Uthai Thani, Wat Saket in Bangkok, and Wat Rakhang in Bangkok. Later, he returned to reside at Wat Som Siao and was appointed district ecclesiastical head on 7 February 1908 CE, receiving the ecclesiastical title Phra Kru Nirutithamthorn as head of Banphot Phisai district. He restored Wat Charoenphon (Wat Bang Ta Suea) and promoted education and Buddhist studies.
When Luang Por Noi planned to restore and build the temple structures at Wat Som Siao, he frequently consulted Luang Pu Suk and requested a rectangular amulet to distribute as tokens of appreciation to donors. Luang Pu Suk kindly arranged for the creation of this rectangular amulet to give to Luang Por Noi for fundraising distribution.
Luang Por Noi passed away on 29 January 1937 CE at the age of 71. His royal cremation was graciously granted and held at Wat Som Siao on 5 April 1939 CE.
