Spiritual seekers, get ready to note the location! Opening the "hidden shrine" of the wealth deity "Fu De Zheng Shen" just outside the Fo Kuang Shan temple grounds, along with Taiwanese tips for attracting wealth said to be sacred. Easily reached by the Pink Line MRT.
Many who have visited the temple to make merit and pay respects to the sacred objects at Fo Kuang Shan Temple (a Theravada-Mahayana Buddhist institution on Koo Bon Road) are familiar with worshiping the Four-armed Guanyin inside. But did you know that outside the temple grounds, there is a "hidden shrine" quietly tucked away yet filled with devoted faith, especially for those seeking blessings for luck and finances?
This shrine is located near the exit of Fo Kuang Shan temple. When exiting through the main gate and turning left toward Phaya Suren Road, you will find a small pavilion housing the deity "Fu De Zheng Shen."
"Fu De Zheng Shen" or known among Thai Chinese as "Pae Kong" (the earth god) is depicted as an elderly man with a long white beard, a smiling and compassionate face. According to traditional Chinese and Taiwanese beliefs, he is the god who protects the land, property, and peace.
He is also revered as the god of wealth or "Cai Shen Ye on earth." People commonly worship him to pray for business prosperity, financial stability, and safe travels.
Light three incense sticks to pay respects to the deity (incense is provided free at the shrine).
Turn your back to the shrine first After lighting the incense, face outward (turn your back to the deity) to clearly state your full name and current address, as if reporting to the local spirits.
Then turn back to pray face the deity again and focus your mind on your wishes, especially concerning money, career, or business advancement and stability.
Important prohibition According to belief, offering "meat" is strictly forbidden.
If your wishes come true, many devotees return to give thanks and are careful to keep the area clean and orderly by tidying incense and candles.
After preparing the offerings, light three incense sticks as when first praying, turning your back to the deity to state your name, birth date, and address, then face the deity again to express gratitude for granted wishes (specify the fulfilled request), ask for forgiveness if you have offended, and pray for continued protection and smoothness in career, finances, and life.
When the incense burns out, bow and take the auspicious fruits or sweets home to share with family for blessings and to receive good fortune.
