The 2016 Rolls-Royce Ghost, which serves as the vehicle for Thailand’s latest Prime Minister, starts at a reasonable price of 30 million baht. This price excludes optional extras, which, if fully equipped by the owner, could push the Ghost’s cost beyond 40 million baht. The Charnvirakul family owns many businesses, and Anutin himself has been wealthy since birth—truly born with a silver spoon in hand.
This is due to his father, Chavarat Charnvirakul, a billionaire businessman and owner of Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction, a company known for securing numerous government mega-project concessions across multiple administrations. Notable projects include the 12.26 billion baht construction of Suvarnabhumi Airport, the 4.325 billion baht Ratchaburi power plant, the 2.534 billion baht Kaeng Khoi power plant, the 2.36 billion baht Bangkok South power plant for the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), and the 12 billion baht new parliament building, Sappaya-Sapasathan.

The Rolls-Royce Ghost is a large, powerful vehicle. The long-wheelbase Ghost is meticulously crafted at the Goodwood factory in England (though owned by BMW Group). It’s a limousine designed for 21st-century use, boasting a 563-horsepower V12 engine. Fuel consumption isn’t a priority, as the 2.6-ton vehicle is naturally heavy. The doors open like a cupboard, and the rear seats emphasize comfort since most owners don’t drive themselves. The Ghost’s seats are designed to relax its occupants during travel.
This car is heavily customized to suit the image of a billionaire clientele, a group that’s quite exclusive. It proudly asserts its presence on the road with a price tag of 30 million baht. Today, Rolls-Royce operates under the German BMW Group umbrella, meaning new Rolls-Royce models incorporate advanced technology from BMW’s New Series-7 but are further refined to a higher level. This vehicle has become highly coveted by wealthy heirs seeking models superior to the Ghost, representing the ultimate luxury car experience, combining exquisite craftsmanship, dynamic performance, and the prestige of a century-old renowned brand favored by the affluent.

The car’s front lighting system casts a beam over 600 meters, featuring modern LED turn signals and daytime running lights, eliminating the need for fog lamps. Night safety enhancements include enhanced visibility systems and obstacle warnings active throughout driving. There’s a drowsiness alert system, four cameras providing a surround and bird’s-eye view, and a highly detailed head-up display (HUD) projected onto the windshield—the clearest in the automotive industry. It also includes automatic parking and other systems designed to maximize passenger protection. The front lower bumper is designed as a honeycomb air intake made of high-grade black plastic, perfectly contrasting with the silver grille.

The 6.75-liter V12 gasoline engine is specially tuned for the Ghost. This nearly 7-liter V12 produces 563 horsepower and a torque of 850 Newton-meters, effortlessly propelling the 2.5-ton body. Maximum torque is available early at just 1,600 rpm, thanks to an 8-speed transmission that keeps the engine’s peak rpm only 600 rpm above idle. The intake manifold is redesigned to allow faster air flow into combustion chambers, also reducing engine noise. Performance figures include acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, a top speed of 250 km/h, fuel efficiency of 5.5–6.7 km/liter, and CO2 emissions of 359 grams per kilometer.
This is the origin of the Rolls-Royce Ghost, priced between 32.7 and 35 million baht. Fully optioned models can exceed 40 million baht.
