The popular standing meatball stall behind Buriram railway station, along with the legendary Kriangkrai store recognized as a provincial specialty, saw sales surge to twice the normal level. To meet demand, the vendors increased pork meatball production from 50–100 kilograms per day up to 200 kilograms daily, supplying both freshly fried skewers and raw meatballs with dipping sauce for gifts and souvenirs.

The charm that has made Buriram’s standing meatballs beloved in Thailand for decades lies in their uniquely soft and bouncy texture. They are enjoyed with a special dipping sauce made from tamarind juice, shallots, and fried dried chili, offering a balanced sweet, sour, and salty flavor, as well as a richly flavored chili paste sauce that has recently gained popularity. Prices start at only 5 baht per skewer, or customers can purchase larger sets with fresh vegetables and dipping sauce starting at 100 baht.

Today, standing meatballs are more than just a local snack; they have become a modern cultural symbol. During tourist seasons and important festivals, standing meatballs are not only a filling treat but also a heartfelt gift representing memories and affection from Buriram.
