Pleum Khao SiapoRestA restaurant that has passed down its delicious flavors from the great-grandfather’s generation to the current granddaughter, guaranteed delicious with charcoal-grilled crispy pork and a rare secret spice sauce, starting at 50 baht.
Khao Siapo, an original 100-year-old recipe from Nakhon Pathom, has opened a new branch under the name “Pleum Khao Siapo,” leading with a selection of charcoal-grilled meats including red pork, crispy pork, roast duck, and Chinese sausage. The traditional preparation method has been preserved since the days of the great-grandparents who started selling from a cart, and now the third generation aims to bring the classic fragrant flavor for Surat Thani locals to enjoy.
Kancharatthan Paisankittisakul, the third-generation owner, revealed that the key to the restaurant is preparing fresh daily and grilling exclusively over charcoal. Especially for the crispy pork, large cuts of five kilograms are grilled at a time to achieve a crispy exterior and tender interior. The roast duck focuses on crispy skin and tender meat, served with a secret sauce containing a rich blend of spices that fills the air with an enticing aroma. The flavor is complemented by a special hot clear soup that rotates daily, such as winter melon with pork ribs, glass noodles, or pickled mustard greens soup, so customers can enjoy variety without repetition.
Prices are wallet-friendly at 50 baht per dish, 60 baht for special dishes, or orders as a main course ranging from 100 to 150 baht.
Pleum Khao Siapo is located on Sriwichai Road, Makhamtia Subdistrict, between Sriwichai Hospital and Wat Klang Mai. It is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. For directions, call 083-142-6642.
