Discover the secret recipe of braised pork noodles generously topped with freshly fried pork cracklings, alongside a giant pork rib piece priced at just 50 baht. This humble eatery captures the hearts of factory workers with its harmonious flavors and free delivery service.
Jae Mam Sut Yod is a notably interesting shop that began as a small stall with only four tables 25 years ago. Today, it has expanded to over 20 tables to accommodate the steady flow of customers who come to savor the much-talked-about delicious flavors shared by word of mouth.
Ms. Thitima Prasertsuk, 30, the second-generation owner’s daughter, shared that the shop is the combined effort of her parents. The key to winning customers’ loyalty lies in its neatness and consistently good taste, especially the “fried pork cracklings” which are freshly fried every day to add a fragrant, rich flavor to every bowl.
The signature and most ordered dish is the giant braised pork ribs. Priced at only 50 baht, this dish originated from customers frequently nibbling on pork ribs simmered in the soup pot. The shop then decided to cook the ribs separately, selecting large, tender pieces to serve customers who can enjoy sucking and nibbling to their heart’s content, paired with intensely flavored braised pork noodle soup — the shop’s highlight.
Every day, Jae Mam Sut Yod uses no less than 20 kilograms of noodles, which can surge to 50 kilograms on weekends. Meanwhile, the ribs prepared daily total at least 15 kilograms to meet customer demand.
Other menu items include desserts such as coconut jelly, sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves, and grass jelly with fresh milk to cleanse the palate.
Beyond the food’s taste, another vital aspect that endears the shop to workers is its kindness: the shop offers free noodle delivery to factory employees without extra charges.
