Discover the Mango Sticky Rice Trail in Phitsanulok: A Legacy of Mothers Recipe, Delicious Value from Champion Ingredients

Amid rising temperatures in Phitsanulok province, nothing soothes the body better than the dish "mango sticky rice" again. But to truly enjoy premium-level deliciousness, head straight to Ekathatrot Road near Ban Khaek Intersection, home to Charoenporn 2, a famous sticky rice shop gaining popularity for its generationally inherited recipe.

The shop’s unique appeal began with an unusual transformation; it was once a well-known eyeglasses store. However, the masterful dessert-making skills of the owner’s mother, who started selling sticky rice alongside, won the hearts of the entire city with the fragrant richness of coconut milk. Best Theerawut Phatipipat, the 28-year-old heir, has fully stepped in to carry on this legacy of deliciousness.

The key that sets Charoenporn 2’s sticky rice apart is the choice of coconut milk from Thap Sakae, Thailand’s best source of cashew nuts and coconuts. It’s freshly pressed and blended with premium sticky rice to create a perfectly balanced "sweet with a hint of salt" flavor. The sticky rice has a soft, chewy texture, not soggy, with a glossy appearance that invites eating.

Even better when paired with Phitsanulok’s Golden Nam Dok Mai mango, a product registered as a geographical indication (GI) since 2023. This GI mango has a unique character that’s rare to find: firm, deep yellow flesh, free of annoying fibers, thin flat seeds, and a sweet, rich aroma. Normally reserved as a premium export, Charoenporn 2 serves this fresh all year round to delight locals.

Despite using export-grade ingredients and specially selected coconut milk, the prices remain surprisingly affordable. Sticky rice sells at only 180 baht per kilogram (or you can buy a smaller portion at 20 baht to try first).

The award-winning Golden Nam Dok Mai mango is priced at just 120 baht per kilogram. Together, they form a mango sticky rice set at 120 baht, ready to eat immediately.

Additionally, classic menu items are available for those who prefer traditional Thai flavors, including sticky rice topped with dried fish, shrimp, or custard, all at a modest price of 30 baht per box.

Charoenporn 2 is located on Ekathatrot Road (near Ban Khaek Intersection and the Topland Plaza High Bridge). It welcomes customers daily from 07:00 to 20:00 or until supplies run out. For those unable to visit in person, orders can be placed via GrabFood, Line Man, and ShopeeFood apps.

If you’re seeking a refreshing dessert that showcases the power of Thai GI-grade ingredients, Charoenporn 2’s mango sticky rice is the answer. The first bite promises to make you forget the heat for a moment.
