Pinpointing the Nighttime Dessert Spot “Pa Lot”: Chiang Mais Golden Queue for Mango Sticky Rice Waiting Overnight

From a small roadside stall to a popular hotspot for tourists wanting to savor delicious mango sticky rice made with rich quality ingredients, priced from 50 baht.

Every night, anyone wanting to try dessert in Chiang Mai must stop by Pa Lot’s mango sticky rice shop, where both locals and foreigners stand in line to get queue tickets even before the shop opens.

Originally, Pa Lot’s shop started as a family business, focusing on meticulous preparation at every step—from selecting high-quality Khao Niao Kheaw Nu sticky rice to freshly pressed coconut milk daily. The shop has relocated multiple times due to renovations around Kad Luang (Warorot Market) area, but thanks to strong word of mouth, it remains crowded every evening at its current roadside location opposite Bangkok Bank.

What sets Pa Lot’s mango sticky rice apart is the fresh, fragrant sticky rice that greets you as you approach, with a perfectly soft texture—not too hard or mushy—paired with rich, well-balanced coconut milk that isn’t overly sweet, and carefully selected ripe mangoes bursting with sweetness, all packed generously starting at 50 baht.

Pa Lot’s mango sticky rice shop typically opens from around 8:30 p.m. onward.
