In Phitsanulok province, there is a restaurant that blends the classic charm of the past with the ever-popular Thai dish, “mookata.” The recommended spot is Thep Nakhon Grill & Beer, located in the alley of Thep Nakhon Hotel, Mueang District, Phitsanulok.
Mr. Chaiwat Jaitong, owner of Thep Nakhon Grill & Beer, conceived the idea to revive a historic site that once belonged to the owner of Kitikorn Theater, a legendary cinema in Phitsanulok. He aimed to bring it back to life with an old cinema atmosphere, focusing on evoking memories while offering satisfying meals.
Mr. Chaiwat revealed that the inspiration for the restaurant began with a desire to use a familiar name from the old hotel area. He chose mookata, which appeals to young people, and recreated the ambiance by using a classic cinema theme where customers can watch old movies and listen to retro music under the slogan "Eat mookata, watch movies, listen to old songs."
