Ms. Kanthamon Homraruen, or Je Ing, 45, the owner, revealed the origin of the curry rice shop. Previously, she sold mackerel but faced rising oil prices that pushed up mackerel costs. Unable to bear the higher costs, she decided to open the 10-baht curry rice shop with the intention of helping low-income locals and laborers enjoy filling meals at affordable prices, guided by the philosophy that if customers survive, the vendor will survive even with lower profits.
The restaurant’s staple daily menu includes green curry, chicken coconut soup, and braised eggs. They also offer drinks with an ice charge of only 2 baht for the first glass and free refills thereafter.
