Nowadays, when people talk about "river prawns," many probably think of prices in the hundreds or thousands of baht. But today, the Thairath Online Lifestyle team and the "Thairath Pochana" show will take you to a hidden gem that went viral overnight: "Aunt Aoi’s Pad Thai, Khubon 27." They serve made-to-order dishes with large river prawns, tender meat, and rich roe, starting at only 60 baht! Let's find out together if it’s truly worth the hype.
This place is called "Aunt Aoi’s Pad Thai, Khubon 27," also known to many as "Aunt Aoi Pad Thai and Fried Mussels," run by 62-year-old Aunt Aoi, who has operated the restaurant for 34 years and personally developed all the recipes.
Aunt Aoi said the restaurant initially sold only Pad Thai and fried mussels, starting at 15 baht per box and gradually rising to 50 baht. Around 2-3 years ago, responding to customer requests for rice dishes, she added made-to-order meals featuring river prawns and other meats, starting at just 60 baht.
From a simple roadside stall, it has become a viral spot with customers queuing to taste the delicious food. Aunt Aoi’s distinctive trait is her loud voice; she often scolds her staff while cooking, leading customers to nickname the place "Cooking and Scolding, Yet Delicious."
Aunt Aoi’s philosophy in cooking is "not sparing ingredients, carefully seasoning every dish, and never being stingy." Having personally experienced small portions at other restaurants, she is determined to provide great value. The key to the deliciousness lies in the main ingredients:
The made-to-order dishes here feature three large river prawns per plate, at very accessible prices.

This is another great place proving that delicious, quality food at affordable prices still exists.
