You can easily register for unemployment yourself online through the following steps:

Step 1: Register for unemployment social security online under Section 33

1. Visit the websiteof the Department of Employment, Ministry of Labour. 
2. Choose “Login for general users” or register as a new user following the instructions.
3. Agree to the data usage consent.
4. Click “Register and report unemployment for insured persons” and then click “Continue.”
5. Fill out your personal information completely.
6. Select the “Unemployment Registration” blue button.
7. Enter details including

  • personal data,
  • educational qualifications,
  • reason for leaving work: resignation or dismissal,
  • job seeking preferences: search for vacancies or apply,
  • self-employment: specify the type of occupation.

8. Complete the form for the unemployment benefit claim for the Social Security Fund (SSO.2-01/7)
9. Attach a file of your savings bank account statement showing your name and account number.
10. Save the information to complete the registration.

Step 2: Reporting your status

  • If the contract ends or the person resigns, 30% of the daily wage is paid for up to 90 days per year.

The calculation is based on a maximum monthly wage of 15,000 baht. For example, with a 15,000 baht wage and contributions for at least 6 months within 15 months before unemployment, you would receive 150 baht per day for up to 90 days, totaling 150–13,500 baht.
