On 4 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the Thairath Foundation launched the “Green Giant” caravan to assist Thairath Wittaya schools in six southern provinces affected by the 2025 floods, delivering urgent help to those impacted.
Following the major floods in the south at the end of November, eight Thairath Wittaya schools suffered severe damage to their buildings, property, and the livelihoods of students, teachers, and nearby community families.
Most recently, on 4 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the Thairath Foundation organized the “Green Giant” caravan with three 6-wheel trucks from Thairath Logistics to deliver survival kits and drinking water to the eight affected schools. Thairath staff helped pack and load the supplies, sending support and encouragement to flood victims. The caravan departed Bangkok at 16:00 today and will reach the schools tomorrow.
Jitsupa Vacharapol, co-CEO of Thairath TV and Thairath Online and a Thairath Foundation board member, presided over the handover of relief supplies. The Thairath Foundation’s caravan delivered aid from the Thairath Newspaper headquarters to the Thairath Wittaya schools in the flood-affected southern areas.
“This relief effort is a collaboration between Thairath and partners like the Mirror Foundation and Thai PBS. Thairath handled transporting survival kits, food, and daily necessities. Today, the Thairath Foundation’s caravan is sending survival kits and essential items to the students, families, and teachers of eight flood-affected Thairath Wittaya schools in the south. The donations fund the purchasing and transportation of these supplies,” she explained.
With many Thairath Wittaya schools damaged, over 1,300 families—more than 5,000 people including students, parents, and staff—were affected. The aid includes 1,000 packs of drinking water, large rice cookers for school meal preparation, and 1,500 survival kits containing essential daily items. These are being delivered to eight Thairath Wittaya schools across six provinces: Songkhla, Yala, Phatthalung, Trang, Satun, and Nakhon Si Thammarat.
Separately, the Mirror Foundation received a second Green Giant truck from the Thairath Group to continue delivering donations to flood victims in the south. Most donations today consisted of over 20,000 sacks for collecting wet, heavy waste, addressing urgent needs reported by local residents. Other items included bathing supplies, cleaning tools, clothing, and underwear.
The public is assured that relief supplies will reach those affected by tomorrow. The Green Giant trucks will depart Bangkok around 20:00 and are expected to arrive at the warehouse in Tha Chang Subdistrict, Bang Klam District, Songkhla Province, by 10:00 tomorrow.
