In the latest Thai-Cambodian clash news today (13 Dec 2025 GMT+7), it was reported that at 06:00, the Royal Thai Air Force dispatched two F-16 jets to carry out a mission to bomb and damage Chay Chum Nea Bridge.
Previously, on 10 Dec, the Chanthaburi and Trat Border Defense Command (C-T BDC) warned Cambodian civilians living near the area of Chay Chum Nea Bridge to urgently evacuate the area and to stay clear of the bridge by more than 1.5 kilometers, after detecting that it was being used as a route for Cambodian soldiers to transport weapons and military equipment threatening sovereignty.
Chay Chum Nea Bridge is located in Veal Veng District, Pursat Province (a Cambodian border area). It is a bridge spanning close to the Cambodia-Thailand border area.
According to reports from the Chanthaburi and Trat Border Defense Command (C-T BDC), although the bridge is not directly on the border line, it is an important structure situated not far from the border. It serves as a main route for moving weapons and supplies within Cambodian territory near the border conflict zone.
Chay Chum Nea Bridge plays a strategic role as a link between Cambodia and the Thai border area. It is used not only for transporting civilians and goods but also for moving weapons and military equipment used in warfare and sovereignty threats. This makes the bridge a key strategic point as a supply route for Cambodia, posing a risk of being used to transport weapons for reinforcement or troop movements.
On 10 Dec, an evacuation order was issued for Cambodian civilians to leave the area near Chay Chum Nea Bridge (within a radius of more than1.5 kilometers) by the Chanthaburi and Trat Border Defense Command (C-T BDC). The primary purpose was civilian safety, as Thailand might need to destroy the bridge to cut off Cambodian military weapon supply routes.
Today (13 Dec), reports indicate that two F-16 jets were deployed to the Trat border area to carry out the mission to destroy Chay Chum Nea Bridge. The bridge was partially damaged but has not collapsed. However, it is no longer passable.
Destroying such a large structure involves using high-powered weapons, which can cause widespread damage and pose life-threatening dangers to people nearby. Therefore, an evacuation warning was issued to remove civilians from the risky area.
Summary Chay Chum Nea Bridge has become a significant focal point in the latest Thai-Cambodian border conflict, as it was used strategically to transport heavy weapons. The evacuation order reflects responsible measures to protect civilians from the impacts of this conflict zone.
