Year-end Holidays 2025 and New Year 2026: Government, Banks, and Private Sector Days Off - Plan Your Year-End Trips

Update New Year 2026 Holidays After working throughout the year, many people are preparing to take a break, recharge, or go on trips to close out the old year and welcome the approaching New Year. If you are planning travel or arranging your time off, you can check the extended holiday schedule for New Year 2026, including government and private sector holidays as well as the Bank of Thailand's closure dates for the festival here.

How many days off for New Year 2026? This year, the Cabinet has approved an additional special holiday as an official day off, which is Friday, 2 January 2026. Therefore, during theNew Year 2026 holiday period,there will be a continuous long holiday totaling 5 days as follows:

  • Wednesday, 31 December 2025 (New Year's Eve)
  • Thursday, 1 January 2026 (New Year's Day)
  • Friday, 2 January 2026 (additional special holiday) /
  • Saturday, 3 January 2026 (weekend holiday) /
  • Sunday, 4 January 2026 (weekend holiday) /

After the conclusion of the New Year 2026 holidays, all government offices, private companies, and the Bank of Thailand will resume operations and start work again after the New Year, beginning on Monday, 5 January 2026, as the first working day. For those wishing to extend their rest, you can arrange leave according to your organization's policies and your convenience.
