Who is eligible to register for early voting in 2026?

People living away from home:

  • Those residing outside the election district where they are registered. Recent movers:
  • Those who have recently moved their registration to the current district less than 90 days before election day. Overseas residents:
  • Those residing outside the Kingdom of Thailand. Government officials:

Type 1: Early voting "outside the district" and "abroad"

  • This group can register via four channels:

1. Online via the internet

Visit the Registration Administration Office website.2. The ThaID application by the Department of Provincial Administration.

3. The Smart Vote application.

4. By mail — send your envelope addressed to the district or local registrar (postmark date is crucial) or submit in person at the district office or local administration.

Type 2: Early voting "within the election district"

  • This group cannot register online and must proceed as follows:

Eligible persons are government officials or staff ordered to work on election day or those who must travel. They can submit in person (or by proxy) or by mail with official orders or a certification letter confirming they cannot vote on election day attached.

How to register for early voting in 2026 via the Smart Vote app

Select the menu:

  • For those outside their district: “MP Election” > “Outside Election District” > “Online Registration.” For overseas residents: “Outside the Kingdom” > “Online Registration.” Enter your details:
  • ID card number, card back number (Laser ID), full name, date of birth, 11-digit household registration code (or passport for overseas residents). Review and choose location:
  • The system will show your current data; select the province and location convenient for you to vote. Confirm:
