Bangkok is transforming Silom Road into a world-class cultural runway for the "Amazing Bangkok Songkran Parade 2026" under the theme "GROUNDED THAI – Living Heritage, Wear a Shawl to Silom." This elevates Thailand's soft power to the global stage on 14 April 2026, with the festival extended for even more water play from 12–14 April 2026.

The standout feature for 2026 is the "Wear a Shawl, Go to Silom" campaign, showcasing Thai soft power on a cultural runway.

This year's event focuses on passing on the 'living heritage' to prove that Thai culture is accessible to every generation, featuring key activities not to be missed.

  • Grand parade: Silom Road will be transformed into a parade runway featuring contributions from government and private sectors blending contemporary Thai identity.

Besides the Amazing Bangkok Songkran Parade on 14 April, the Silom Songkran 2026 festival has extended the event from two days to three, with organized space management to accommodate over 100,000 visitors daily.

  • Road closures: Silom Road will be closed from Sala Daeng Intersection to Nararam Intersection, prohibiting all vehicles during the event.

  3. Silom Soi 2 (Convent).
  4. Silom Soi 4.

The strict "5 P's" rules to follow.

  1. No high-pressure water guns.
  2. No alcohol (drinking and selling alcohol are prohibited in the event area).
  3. No indecent attire (dress politely and appropriately).
  4. No powder (avoid using powder or white clay).
  5. Water conservation.
