This Songkran, Join the Great Merit-Making by Pouring Water on the Relics of Five Buddhas, the Only One in Central Bangkok

This Songkran festival, amid the lively water splashing throughout Bangkok, if anyone is seeking a peaceful place to calm the mind and greatly enhance auspiciousness for the Thai New Year, we invite you to mark your visit at "Wat Pathum Wanaram Ratchaworawihan" in the heart of Siam Square. Here, a rare historic event is taking place, offering Buddhists the unprecedented chance to closely pay respects and pour water on the "relics of five Buddhas".

The exclusive highlight of the exhibition named "Tassananuttriya" is the gathering of the most sacred and highly valued Buddhist relics perfectly assembled in one place.

These include the relics of the First Buddha, the Kassapa Buddha, the Konagamana Buddha, the Gautama Buddha, and the Kakusandha Buddha. Moreover, the exhibition features arhant relics from the Buddha's era and Emperor Ashoka's period, along with the remains of the revered meditation master Ajahn Mun Bhuridatto, allowing everyone to pay homage for the greatest auspiciousness in life.

This event is not only for traditional water pouring ceremonies but also signifies a celebration of the Buddhist era and is dedicated as a royal merit for the nation, religion, and monarchy, with the Chakri Day marking the official opening.

Those wishing to experience this spiritual power can visit from 6 to 30 April 2026, between 08:00 and 18:00 at the Eastern Teachers' Pavilion, Wat Pathum Wanaram. For full New Year blessings, it is recommended to attend the highlight ceremonies from 13 to 15 April, when the temple officially opens for water pouring on the Buddha relics.

Beyond receiving blessings, devotees who wish to extend their merit can contribute to the project to build the "Buddha Relics Hall" and a permanent knowledge exhibition at the 84th Birthday Anniversary Pavilion. This aims to make this central city location a lasting center of faith and religious learning. Donations can be made at Wat Pathum Wanaram's office or the Pathum Maha Sikkhalai project office.

This Songkran, take a moment to escape the bustle, find cool relief, and refresh your spirit at Wat Pathum Wanaram. It promises to be a meaningful and positive way to start the Thai New Year.
