Calling Trail Runners to Explore Isan: Run, Shop, Eat, and Travel at Amazing Thailand GI Tour & Trail Running 2026 in Khon Kaen

Prepare your body and come experience a unique event combining exercise and tourism at the Amazing Thailand GI Tour & Trail Running 2026, now arriving at its third stage in the Isan region.

This event invites runners to tackle trail routes amid the beautiful natural surroundings of Ubolratana Dam in Khon Kaen Province, while enjoying local GI-certified specialties like the "Baan Haad Nam Dok Mai" mango and supporting community products from the local area.

The race course is designed to wind through the natural environment of Ubolratana Dam, letting everyone breathe fresh air and closely experience local community life. There are three distance options to suit runners of all levels: a 5K for casual runners who want to enjoy scenic views, a 10K for fitness enthusiasts seeking more challenge, and a 20K for serious runners ready for a full trail running experience.

Two full days of fun at Ubolratana Dam.

The event will take place at Ubolratana Dam, Ubolratana District, Khon Kaen Province. The excitement begins on Saturday, 30 May 2026, when runners of all distances can collect their BIBs and race shirts from 10:00 to 18:00. The venue will also feature GI product booths and local vendors offering a full range of Khon Kaen's best goods for visitors to stroll, shop, and taste throughout the day.

Then on Sunday, 31 May 2026, the actual race day arrives, where participants will experience the energetic start amid stunning natural surroundings. All day long, there will be engaging workshops and GI product booths for shoppers to continue supporting the charm of Isan and Khon Kaen Province.

Completing the run will definitely be worthwhile, as the event offers many special prizes. The top five finishers in the 20K and 10K races will receive trophies and cash prizes up to 10,000 baht. The male and female champions in each distance will earn free entry to the next race, along with travel and accommodation support for two nights.

Additionally, the top 20 runners with the best times will receive a Top 20 GI SET featuring local specialties to take home. The ultimate special reward goes to runners who complete races in all five regions—they will receive an exclusive Thailand-shaped medal as a proud symbol of their achievement.
