Urgent Notice: Bangkok Offers Free Spay-Neuter and Vaccination Services for Dogs and Cats from 16-21 June 2026

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's Department of Health is organizing a mobile veterinary unit to provide free spaying/neutering, microchip implantation, and rabies vaccination services for pets (dogs and cats) from 16 to 21 June 2026.

Conditions and details for free spaying/neutering and rabies vaccination services.

For pets brought for spaying/neutering surgery (dogs and cats):

• They must be healthy and not ill.
• They must be at least 6 months old.
• Food and water must be withheld for at least 8–10 hours before the service (to prevent aspiration or airway obstruction during anesthesia).
• Female dogs and cats must not be pregnant or nursing.
• Pets should be bathed and clean beforehand, as they should not be bathed for at least 7 days after surgery or until the incision heals, to prevent infection.
• For cats, bring a large basket or cage for ease of transport after the surgery.
• Dogs should be securely leashed or chained while being brought for service.
• Small or brachycephalic (short-nosed) breeds of dogs or cats are not eligible for spaying/neutering services.

For pets brought for rabies vaccination:

• Dogs and cats must be at least 3 months old.
