Grab Launches 4 AI Features to Support Drivers and Hosts Grab Driver Awards to Enhance Ride-Hailing Service

Grab Thailand held the inaugural Grab Driver Awards ceremony, honoring more than 400 drivers and riders nationwide. The event also introduced four new AI features and an upskilling course to become content creators, aiming to raise standards in the public ride-hailing industry.

Grab organized the Grab Driver Awards to honor drivers across eight categories, raising the quality of ride-hailing services.

Grab Thailandhosted the annual top service provider awards.The “Grab Driver Awards”were held for the first time to recognize over 400 outstanding drivers and riders nationwide for their exceptional service. Mr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, Deputy Minister of Transport, presided over the ceremony, noting that ride-hailing apps play a crucial role in daily life and tourism. He said the event helps establish quality driver role models to improve long-term safety and service standards.

App-based ride services in Thailand have gained continuous legal recognition since the Ministry of Transport issued regulations to organize and modernize public transport, ensuring safety and building trust among foreign tourists visiting the country.

The awards were based on user ratings and outstanding achievements across eight main categories, including:

• Five-Star Service Provider Award: Given to drivers who received the highest total number of 5-star ratings from users throughout the year.
• Thailand Representative Award, Tourists’ Favorite: Presented to the driver with the highest number of 5-star ratings from foreign tourists.
• Outstanding Chinese Language Communicator Award: Awarded to drivers proficient in Chinese who provided the most service to Chinese passengers.
• Safe Driving Standards Award: Given to drivers with disciplined traffic behavior, safe driving habits, and no complaint records.
• Route Expert Award: Awarded to drivers highly skilled in using maps and who study routes thoroughly before service.
• Exemplary Service Provider Award: Given to drivers who serve as role models by sharing tips and knowledge on social media.
• Grab’s Good Citizen Award: Presented to drivers outstanding in morality, public spirit, and community assistance.
• Knowledge-Seeking Service Provider of the Year Award: Given to drivers with the highest attendance and scores in GrabAcademy training courses.

Launch of 4 New AI Features and Content Creator Upskilling Course

Ms. Jantsuda Thananityaudom, CEO of Grab Thailand, explained that beyond the awards, Grab has developed four new AI features to support drivers and riders, including:

1. Driver AI Assistant: An intelligent chatbot within the driver app to answer questions, provide income-boosting tips, and clarify service policies.
2. Grab Navigation: A GPS navigation system integrated with GrabMaps digital maps, offering comprehensive traffic data.
3. Ride Guide: A feature that recommends and guides drivers to areas with high demand to increase earning opportunities.
4. Grab Emergency: An AI-powered system that detects risky or unusual behavior in real-time during trips and sends safety alerts.

Additionally, Grab has expanded its GrabAcademy training program with a new course titled“From Driver to Creator: Transforming Stories into Income.”This course features successful drivers who have become influencers sharing online content creation techniques, providing a pathway for drivers to earn additional income in the digital era.
