Grab Launches 4 AI Features to Support Drivers and Hosts Grab Driver Awards to Elevate Ride-Hailing Service

Grab Thailand hosted the first-ever Grab Driver Awards to honor over 400 drivers and riders nationwide for outstanding service. The event also launched four new AI features and an upskilling course to become content creators, aiming to raise standards in the public ride-hailing industry.

Grab organized the Grab Driver Awards recognizing drivers in eight categories to enhance ride-hailing service quality.

Grab Thailand held the annual awards ceremony to honor the top service providers of the year.The event was titled “Grab Driver Awards.”This inaugural event honored over 400 drivers and riders nationwide who delivered exceptional service. Mr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, Deputy Minister of Transport, presided over the ceremony, noting that app-based ride services play a vital role in daily life and tourism. He said this event helps create role model drivers to develop long-term safety and service standards.

App-based ride-hailing services in Thailand have received continuous legal recognition since the Ministry of Transport issued ministerial regulations to organize and modernize the public transport system. These efforts aim to enhance safety and build confidence among foreign tourists visiting the country.

In-depth look at the eight categories for the “Top Service Provider of the Year 2026” awards.

Award recipients were selected based on customer ratings and outstanding qualities across eight main categories:

  • Five-Star Service Award: Presented to drivers who received the highest total number of five-star ratings from customers throughout the year.
  • Thailand’s Representative Award, Tourists’ Favorite: Given to the driver with the highest number of five-star ratings from foreign tourists.
  • Outstanding Chinese Language Communicator Award: Granted to drivers proficient in Chinese who provided service to the most Chinese passengers.
  • Safe Driving Standards Award: Awarded to drivers with disciplined traffic behavior, safe driving practices, and no complaint records.
  • Route Expert Award: Given to drivers skilled in map usage and who study routes prior to service.
  • Exemplary Service Provider Award: Presented to drivers who set an example by sharing information and knowledge on social media.
  • Grab’s Good Samaritan Award: Awarded to drivers recognized for outstanding morality, public spirit, and community service.
  • Knowledge Seeker of the Year Award: Given to drivers with the highest attendance and scores in GrabAcademy training courses.

Introduction of four new AI features and the upskilling course for content creators.

Ms. Jantsuda Thananityaudom, CEO of Grab Thailand, explained that besides the awards, Grab has developed four new AI features to support drivers and riders, including:

  1. Driver AI Assistant: An intelligent chatbot within the driver app to answer questions, offer income-boosting tips, and explain service policies.
  2. Grab Navigation: A GPS navigation system integrated with GrabMaps digital maps, providing comprehensive traffic data.
  3. Ride Guide: A feature that recommends and guides drivers to areas with high demand to increase earning opportunities.
  4. Grab Emergency: An AI-powered system that detects risky behaviors and abnormalities during trips in real time and sends safety alerts.

Additionally, Grab has added a new training course to its GrabAcademy program titled:“From Driver to Creator: Transforming Stories into Income.”This course features successful drivers who became influencers sharing techniques for creating online content, guiding drivers on how to generate additional income in the digital era.

The Grab Driver Awards 2026 event, along with the launch of new AI features and skill development courses, marks the platform’s commitment to raising standards for public transport service providers via its app. It also aims to enhance safety and create diverse income opportunities for drivers and riders, aligning with national policies promoting tourism and transportation.
