Currently, many salaried workers and new graduates are seeking new opportunities or wondering if their career fields still show growth potential. Recently, the 2026 Salary Survey report from JobThai revealed salary rates and the most in-demand job sectors. It confirms that the IT field remains the top earner, while sales roles are recruiting over 100,000 positions! Let's check out which career paths are trending now.
Data collected from nationwide job postings between January and June 2026 shows continued growth in demand across many sectors. The top three with the highest openings are:
Rank | Job Sector | Number of Openings | Average Salary (Baht) |
1 | Sales | 109,018 | 20,295 – 30,898 |
2 | Manufacturing / Quality Control | 62,652 | 20,121 – 27,914 |
3 | Technical Jobs | 51,917 | 15,655 – 21,117 |
(All data sourced from JobThai)
Additionally, the Top 10 most in-demand jobs include Procurement/Administrative (34,137 openings), Engineering (33,352 openings), Customer Service (28,816 openings), Transportation/Warehousing (27,514 openings), Accounting (27,187 openings), Marketing (21,122 openings), and Food & Beverage Service (17,949 openings).
Although Computer and IT jobs may not be among the top 10 in terms of volume of openings, they offer the "highest" average salaries, ranging from 26,896 to 39,524 baht. This reflects organizations' continued investment to attract technology professionals, especially experts in AI, Automation, Cloud Infrastructure, and Cyber Security.
For those considering career changes or upskilling, here are five sectors with increasing job openings and above-average salary growth, yet still facing significant labor shortages:
For first-time job seekers, data shows that "interpreting and translation" roles offer the highest average starting salaries between 24,524 and 35,378 baht, especially for Chinese and Japanese language skills in high demand. Following are medical services (20,288–28,657 baht), secretarial/executive assistant roles (20,190–27,311 baht), IT jobs (19,500–28,110 baht), and engineering (19,424–26,818 baht).
Conversely, the lowest starting salaries for new graduates are in technical jobs, food and beverage services, finance, transportation, and procurement.
By region, Bangkok and its metropolitan area still offer the highest average salaries at 20,938–32,426 baht. However, the Eastern region stands out with the second-highest salary ceiling in the country (15,867–30,237 baht), especially in the 304 industrial estate in Prachinburi province, where some expert roles in Operations, Quality Control, and Supply Chain offer salaries up to 160,000 baht.
Ms. Sangduen Tangthamsatit, co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of JobThai, stated that amid fast-changing economic and technological conditions, the 2026 labor market will face greater challenges. Organizations seek personnel who are not only specialists but also versatile, adaptable, and willing to learn new skills. Language abilities, communication skills, and problem-solving are essential advantages in the workplace.
In summary, the 2026 labor market will not be won by degrees alone. Specialized skills and adaptability are the "key" factors for success. Whether new graduates or experienced workers, continuous self-development—especially in language and technology skills—will be a secret weapon to increase salary opportunities.
