Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is moving forward to facilitate convenience for residents in Bangkok by organizing a social service activity called “Scheduled Drop-off and Pickup of Large Waste.” , It will take place on Saturday, 12 September and Sunday, 13 September 2026. In total, 32 districts will be covered, with district offices deploying staff and vehicles to collect broken items, large waste, and unused electrical appliances at designated community points free of charge. This promotes waste separation from the start and prevents illegal dumping of large waste in public areas or blocking waterways.
Residents are advised to place large waste and unwanted items at designated collection points in front of their homes before 08:30 a.m. to await collection by staff between 09:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon on the scheduled dates.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration will send staff to collect large waste in targeted areas on the specified dates, splitting operations over two days by district office locations as follows:
Residents are advised to separate large waste by type before disposal—for example, furniture, electrical appliances, sports equipment over one meter in size should be cut into smaller pieces. Heavy items should be disassembled and small pieces bundled neatly. Bring identification such as a national ID card (electricity or water bill receipts are also accepted) to show to staff.
1. Bring waste to the designated collection point.
2. Provide proof of identity to confirm ownership.
3. Staff will collect and transport waste to disposal sites free of charge.
Additionally, residents with large amounts of waste or those living far from weekly drop-off points may contact the Cleaning and Parks Division of any district office for service, subject to a fee as per government regulations. Scan the QR CODE to contact cleaning services in all 50 districts.
Warning: Improper disposal obstructs Bangkok's drainage system and violates the Cleanliness Act, resulting in fines of 2,000baht ifwaste is dumped outside containers or designated points, and up to 10,000 baht for dumping into waterways under Penal Code Section 380.
For those interested in the “Scheduled Drop-off and Pickup of Large Waste” project by BMA on 12-13 September, be sure to prepare accordingly and check the district-specific collection points nearby to use the service.
