The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration is organizing an event called "Large Waste Drop-off and Collection" to be held on Saturday and Sunday, 24–25 October 2026, covering 26 districts to facilitate residents in Bangkok to dispose of broken items, old furniture, and unused electrical appliances free of charge, promoting waste segregation.
Residents in designated areas can place large waste at designated collection points in front of their homes before 8:30 a.m., with officials and district vehicles collecting the items from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the specified days.
. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration is preparing to deploy officials to collect large waste in targeted areas on these dates, dividing operations over two days according to each district office as follows.
Residents are advised to sort large waste properly before disposal, such as furniture, electrical appliances, and sports equipment over 1 meter, which should be cut into smaller pieces. Heavy items should be disassembled and small waste bundled neatly. Prepare your ID card to show officials (electricity or water bills can be used as alternatives).
1. Take waste to the designated collection point.
2. Present proof of identity to confirm ownership.
3. Officials will transport the waste to disposal sites free of charge.
Additionally, if you have a large quantity of waste or live far from weekly drop-off points, you can contact the sanitation and public park department of any district office for service at a fee according to official regulations. Scan the QR CODE to contact the sanitation department of all 50 districts.
Warning: Improper disposal obstructs Bangkok's drainage system and is punishable under the Cleanliness Act with a fine of 2,000 baht.. Disposing of waste outside containers or designated points carries a fine of 10,000 baht, and dumping waste into waterways is punishable under Criminal Code Section 380.
For those interested in the "Large Waste Drop-off and Collection" project by Bangkok on 24–25 October, be sure to prepare and check the locations in your district to use the service.
