Thai producers of beer, cider, and mead received a total of 37 awards at the Asia Beer Championship and Asia Cider Championship 2026, including four Asian champion titles, three of which were claimed by United Peoples Brewery.
The Craft Beer Trade Association (CBTA) revealed that Thai producers of beer, cider, and mead won a total of 37 awards at the Asia Beer Championship and Asia Cider Championship 2026, announced on 29 Oct 2026 GMT+7 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Among these were four Asian champion titles, marking the first time Thai producers have secured multiple top Asian awards in a single year, according to the association.
All four champion titles went to United Peoples Brewery (Sahaprachachuen Brewery), which won Champion Lager of Asia, Champion IPA of Asia, and Champion Brewpub of Asia. The first two awards followed gold medals earned in the Pilsner and American IPA categories. The third recognized their brewpub. Meanwhile, Champion Cidery of Asia was awarded to Chiang Rai Hops Yard. Additionally, United Peoples Brewery was named Country Champion Brewery of Thailand for this year.
This year, over 700 products from across Asia were entered, according to the association. Thailand ranked fourth overall behind China, Vietnam, and Hong Kong. Thai results included five champion trophies (four Asian champions and one national champion), seven gold medals, six silver, four bronze, and 15 Chairman's Selection awards. These honors were distributed among 22 Thai producers—15 beer producers and 8 cider and mead producers—with Wizard Brewery uniquely receiving awards in both competitions.
Of the seven gold medals, beer producers won five: United Peoples Brewery took two for Pilsner and American IPA categories, and Samata Brewing earned one in Flavoured Beer. On the cider and mead side, Chiang Rai Hops Yard won two golds in Barrel Aged Cider and Perry/Pear Cider categories, followed by Someone's Ale in Flavoured Cider and Hopzone in Mead.
Silver medals in beer went to Brewsphere (Pilsner), Wizard Brewery (Sour Beer), and Craftpital Taisho (Flavoured Beer). In cider and mead, silver awards were given to Craft Distribution (Fruit Cider), Wizard Brewery (Specialty Cider), and Hopzone (Mead). Bronze medals were awarded to Wongwaenrassamee (Flavoured Beer), Someone's Ale (Fruit Cider), Wizard Brewery (Specialty Cider), and Phetkasem x Jim's Brew (Mead).
Chairman's Selection awards for beer included 13 entries from Sarika Linthong Brewery, Cold Cat Brewing, Vana Brewing (3 entries, one in collaboration with Haplab), Khongchiam Brewing, KhonthomCraft (2 entries, one with Losin Brewery), Secret Brewing, Spacecraft Brewing, Chiang Mai Beer (2 entries), and High Bridge Brewing Co. Cider and mead received 2 entries from Bee Keeping and 12 Plato.
The competition was organized by Asia Brewers Network and judged in Singapore from 30 Sep to 1 Oct 2026 GMT+7 by professional brewers and internationally experienced judges. Results were announced at Brew Asia 2026, the annual beer industry conference and trade show in Asia, held this year in Ho Chi Minh City on 28–29 Oct 2026 GMT+7 under the theme “Brewing Smart, Scaling Strong.” The event attracted over 1,000 industry participants and more than 100 exhibitors. Brew Asia 2027 will return to Bangkok on 21–22 Oct 2027 after previously being held there in 2025.
The association views this competition’s results as reflecting significant quality improvements among Thai producers spread across multiple regions in beer, cider, and mead production. They will continue supporting Thai producers to enhance quality and participate in international platforms.
