Google Thailand released a report"Year in Search 2025"which summarizes the overall interests of Thai people throughout the year. This year showed an interesting shift as artificial intelligence (AI) technology became the most influential and relatable topic. The term Gemini surged to claim the top spot among the most popular searches, reflecting how Thais are actively engaging with and applying AI in daily life. Not only Gemini, but tools like ChatGPT and DeepSeek also ranked within the top 10.
However, Thais remain concerned about economic and safety issues, as shown by search trends. Government subsidy programs that help reduce living costs, such as "Khon La Khrueng" and "Khon La Khrueng Plus," ranked second and fifth among popular searches, indicating strong demand for economic support.
In the news category, the term "earthquake" rose to number one, reflecting public alarm and a need for safety information. Additionally, flooding remains a crisis closely followed, with many searches related to relief efforts and registration for flood aid.
In entertainment, Thai series were highly popular this year. "Songkram Song Duan" (Mad Unicorn), based on the real-life story of the founder of Flash Express, claimed the top spot in the Thai drama/series category, followed by the lighthearted period drama "Khun Phi Chao Kha Di Chan Pen Han Mi Mai Pen Hong." On the Korean side, the global sequel "Squid Game 2" unsurprisingly dominated.
