Secondhand iPhone Air Prices Plunge 47% Just 10 Weeks After Launch

Apple's new iPhone Air, launched just over two months ago, has experienced a steep drop in secondhand prices, in contrast to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which continues to hold strong resale value.

A SellCell report found that the resale price of the iPhone Air plummeted by more than 47.4 percent within just the first 10 weeks, while the iPhone 17 Pro's secondhand prices remain robust.

Although it is still too early to declare the iPhone Air a failure, various signs are pointing in a worrying direction, including rumors that Apple is planning to reduce production to end-of-production levels and delay the next model’s launch until 2027.

SellCell analyzed that the iPhone Air's value dropped by 47.4 percent during the first 10 weeks after release, marking the steepest price decline for any iPhone since 2022.

SellCell noted that while prices for other iPhone 17 models stabilized by week 10, the iPhone Air’s resale price continued to fall, signaling concerns about long-term confidence in its resale value.

//Conversely, the strongest secondhand price retention in the current iPhone 17 lineup is the iPhone 17 Pro Max 256GB model, which saw only a 26.1 percent decrease after 10 weeks.

Given this situation, it can be said that almost all iPhone 17 Series models follow Apple's usual pricing standards, with the exception of the iPhone Air, which currently appears to be the most worrisome.
