Secondhand iPhone Air Prices Plunge 47% Just 10 Weeks After Launch

Apple's new iPhone Air, launched just over two months ago, has seen a severe drop in secondhand prices, unlike the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which still holds strong resale value.

A report from SellCell found that the iPhone Air's resale price plunged more than 47.4 percent within just the first 10 weeks, contrasting with the iPhone 17 Pro model whose secondhand prices remain strong.

Although it is still too early to declare the iPhone Air a failure, various signs are pointing in an unfavorable direction, including rumors that Apple plans to cut production to an End of production level and delay the next model's launch until 2027.

SellCell analyzed that the iPhone Air’s value dropped 47.4 percent in the first 10 weeks after release, marking the steepest price fall for an iPhone since 2022.

SellCell noted that while prices of other iPhone 17 models stabilized by week 10, the iPhone Air’s price continued to fall, signaling potential long-term concerns over its resale value.

In contrast, the strongest secondhand performer in the current iPhone 17 lineup is the 256GB iPhone 17 Pro Max, which saw only a 26.1 percent decrease after 10 weeks.

Given these circumstances, it can be said that most iPhone 17 Series models are following Apple's usual pricing trends, with the iPhone Air appearing to be the most worrisome case at this time.
