Samsung is investing heavily in producing the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, which makes up more than 70 percent of its production. Meanwhile, the S Pen will be available only in white and black, focusing on simplicity and reducing manufacturing costs.
Although Samsung has not yet sent out invitations for the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 launch event—the first unveiling of the Galaxy S26 Series scheduled for 25 February—credible information indicates that Samsung’s main strategy for this launch centers heavily on the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Information from Ice Universe reveals that Samsung has allocated its budget and production capacity to the Galaxy S26 Ultra with up to 3.6 million units, far exceeding the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus, which have production volumes of only 700,000 and 600,000 units respectively.
This fivefold difference in production volumes underscores Samsung's confidence in consumer demand for premium smartphones—powerful devices with large screens.
However, while production of the Galaxy S26 Ultra surges, some Samsung fans may be disappointed by leaked images from Nieuwe Mobiel showing that the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s S Pen will have a redesigned look with fewer color options. Unlike previous models where the pen matched the phone's color, the new S Pen will come only in white or black, with just the button tip colored to match the device frame in four shades: Cobalt Violet, Sky Blue, Black, and Silver.
This change is widely seen as a cost-cutting measure, part of a recent trend following the removal of S Pen support from the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the elimination of Bluetooth features from the pen in earlier models.
Additional reports suggest that delays and rising RAM production costs may have pressured Samsung to make these minor adjustments to maintain profit targets, even as most users remain focused on innovations like the Privacy Display screen and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which will be exclusive to the Ultra model.
