The barrier between Android and iOS is gradually breaking down, with the Quick Share feature now working alongside Apple's AirDrop, starting with the Galaxy S26 Series.
Samsung has confirmed an update to Quick Share enabling file transfers compatible with Apple's AirDrop, initially available on the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra models, starting today (23 March 2026).
The cross-platform file sharing will first launch in South Korea, then expand to Thailand, other Southeast Asian countries, the United States, Hong Kong, Japan, and Latin America.
Samsung stated that other Galaxy devices will receive support for this feature later, though no specific timeline has been provided. However, the feature is not enabled by default; users must go to the Quick Share menu and select the 'Share with Apple devices' option to activate it.Appleor Share with Apple devices
Technically, for cross-platform file transfers, iPhone users must enable the file receiving mode set to 'Everyone,' just as Galaxy users must, so the operating system can detect the opposite device.
Additionally, reports indicate that smartphone maker Oppo plans to add support for this feature by the end of March as well. This reflects a trend that Android and iOS systems in 2026 will move toward smoother cross-platform communication.
