Nothing has launched the Nothing Phone (4a), Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, and the over-ear Headphone (a), emphasizing transparent designs powered by AI technology to enhance performance and user experience.
Nothing, a smartphone startup from London, announced new products in Thailand including the Nothing Phone (4a), Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, and the over-ear Headphone (a). These come with the "Built Different" concept, focusing on designs that stand apart from other smartphone manufacturers.
In terms of design, both the Nothing Phone (4a) and Nothing Phone (4a) Pro feature what is called the Glyph Matrix, a signature element used for communication and displaying various device status indicators.
The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro features a unibody aluminum metal design with a thickness of 7.95 millimeters, while the standard Nothing Phone (4a) has a glass back combined with a polycarbonate frame.
The camera setup on the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro includes a 50-megapixel main sensor from Sony measuring 1/1.56 inches, along with a 50-megapixel periscope camera that supports 3.5x optical zoom and up to 140x digital zoom.
The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, a maximum 144Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 5,000 nits.
The standard Nothing Phone (4a) uses the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset and reduces maximum zoom capability to 70x, but still offers a 1.5K AMOLED display with brightness up to 4,500 nits.
A highlight of Nothing smartphones is the Essential AI feature, which activates AI functions processed directly on the device. This includes photography aids like AI Best Shot and AI Tone Sync, as well as daily life tools such as Essential Recorder, which records audio and automatically summarizes key content, and Essential Search, which helps locate information stored on the device. Nothing's founder, Carl Pei, has predicted thatapplications will disappear, replaced by AI agents performing those functions instead.
Alongside the phone launches, the Headphone (a) over-ear headphones were introduced, sharing the transparent design ethos of the phones. The body is made of aluminum alloy, supporting Hi-Res Audio, LDAC, and USB-C Lossless Audio. They feature Adaptive ANC that automatically adjusts noise cancellation according to the environment and have three microphones for clearer calls. Nothing claims a battery life of up to 135 hours.
The Nothing Phone (4a), Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, and Headphone (a) will be officially available from 4 April, with the following pricing:
