The latest report from Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman reveals that Apple's first foldable phone, the iPhone Fold, remains on track for a September launch, alongside the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18 Pro.
However, the launch path for the iPhone Fold appears challenging, as prior to Mark Gurman's confirmation, Nikkei Asia reported that Apple's foldable phone project faced engineering testing issues that might delay its release beyond this year.
Apple's iPhone Fold is expected to feature complex hardware, which will likely limit initial production volumes.
Apple is prioritizing making the crease in the center of the iPhone Fold's screen less visible than those on competing foldable smartphones in the market.
The foldable iPhone could mark a major design shift, since recent iPhone models have often been criticized within the tech community for their repetitive designs.
