Gemini, Google's AI product, has launched the Notebooks feature to facilitate file and conversation management and to seamlessly integrate with NotebookLM.
Google has enhanced Gemini beyond chatbot functionality by introducing the Notebooks feature for full integration with NotebookLM.
The Notebooks feature appears as a new menu in the sidebar when accessing Gemini, allowing users to group conversations and files into specific projects.
Users can add various data sources, including files from Google Drive, website links, or copied text. Gemini uses this information as the main context for answering questions alongside web searches via the Notebook Memory feature and Custom Instructions, which allow users to customize response tones.
Additionally, the system supports two-way data syncing, automatically making Gemini conversations available as data sources in NotebookLM, thereby facilitating the transformation of files into finished work.
Google will offer the Notebooks feature initially to paid subscribers, such as AI Plus, AI Pro, and AI Ultra members, with free users gaining access at a later time.
