Counterpoint revealed that iPhone secured 5 of the top 10 positions in global smartphone sales, while Samsung and Xiaomi continue to hold firm in the mid-range and flagship segments.
A recent report from Counterpoint Research disclosed that in the fourth quarter of 2025, Apple products achieved an impressive share of the global smartphone sales market, with the iPhone 17 series—led by the iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 17, and iPhone 17 Pro—dominating the top three best-selling smartphones worldwide, respectively.
Additionally, last year's iPhone 16 ranked 4th in sales, with the iPhone 16e at 8th place. Interestingly, the iPhone Air did not make it into the best-selling phone rankings during this quarter.
On the competitor front, Samsung held the 5th to 7th positions, with its best-selling phones coming from the mid-range and entry-level segments. The Galaxy A56 ranked 5th, followed by the Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A07 at 6th and 7th places, respectively.
Meanwhile, Samsung’s latest flagship, the Galaxy S25, secured the 10th spot. Xiaomi was the only Chinese brand to enter the top ten this quarter, with the Redmi A5 taking 9th place.
Overall, in the fourth quarter of 2025, the top 10 smartphones accounted for a combined market share of 23 percent of global sales. Notably, the iPhone 17 Pro Max alone captured as much as 5 percent of the global market share.
