New color information for the iPhone 18 Pro indicates a likely change in highlight color from Cosmic Orange to Dark Cherry red.
Although the Cosmic Orange color of the iPhone 17 Pro gained significant attention for resembling the Hermès Orange shade, recent reports suggest Apple will discontinue this color on the iPhone 18 Pro to make way for the new Dark Cherry.
According to reports, Dark Cherry will be a deep wine-red shade, contrasting with the brighter Cosmic Orange; this new color offers a more luxurious and subdued look.
Apple plans to launch the iPhone 18 Pro this year in four colors: Light Blue, Dark Cherry, Silver, and Dark Gray. This aligns with Apple's usual practice of refreshing the model’s signature color annually to keep the lineup fresh and boost sales among customers seeking fashion-forward uniqueness.
Foreign analysts view this decision as business savvy, noting that fashion colors follow cycles and trends. Maintaining the same color too long can make a product seem dull or less appealing to consumers who desire a distinctive look each year.
Beyond colors, the new iPhone 18 Pro is also expected to feature minor design changes, including a smaller Dynamic Island and smoother transitions between the rear glass and the camera module.
