Apple Plans to Launch New Ultra Models: Foldable iPhone and First Touchscreen MacBook

Macworld reports that Apple is preparing to launch a new premium model named “Ultra,” including both the iPhone Ultra and MacBook Ultra, with a possible debut this September.

Macworld's website reports that Apple is making major preparations for future product launches using the name “Ultra.” This represents the brand’s highest-end product segment, covering both iPhone and MacBook lines.

Felipe Espósito, a Macworld reporter, stated that Apple’s first foldable smartphone—previously known as the iPhone Fold—is more likely to be called the iPhone Ultra, while the new MacBook Pro with a touchscreen will be named MacBook Ultra.

In the past, Apple has used the Ultra name for its high-end products, such as the Apple Watch Ultra and the top-tier M-Series chipsets.

Apple’s choice of the Ultra name reflects its intent to label its absolute best products with this title, distinguishing them from the expected iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, which are anticipated to launch alongside the iPhone Ultra.

Meanwhile, the MacBook Ultra will set a new standard for Apple computers, likely elevating macOS to finally support touchscreen functionality—something Apple computer users have long desired.
