Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 Pioneer Use of Gemini Intelligence

The One UI 9 interface will integrate more closely with the Android 17 operating system by adding AI-driven intelligence to enhance Samsung’s foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8.

Seoul Economic Daily, a news agency in South Korea, reported that Google is introducing a more advanced AI feature set called Gemini Intelligence on Android 17. This will be available on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 as part of the new One UI 9 interface update, expected to be released in July or August, aligning with the foldable smartphone launch scheduled for 22 July 2026.

Regarding Gemini Intelligence’s capabilities, Google aims to elevate the Android operating system into a smarter platform. The initial features include a new interface design language displaying smooth animations when AI is processing, and smarter autofill that leverages contextual data from other Google applications to handle complex tasks.

Additionally, there is a new feature on the Gboard keyboard called Rambler, which converts spoken words into polished text. The AI helps remove filler words, exclamations, and repeated phrases. This occurs in real time.Another feature, Create my Widget, allows users to create home screen widgets by typing descriptive text commands, such as instructing the system togenerate a widget. For example, to suggest a weekly high-protein meal plan.

Currently, One UI 9 based on Android 17 is in beta testing in some countries, but the beta version does not yet include Gemini Intelligence for developers to test.

What is notable is that Gemini Intelligence will complement the experience on large foldable displays very well, especially for multitasking, making cross-application interactions smoother.
