Preview of vivo X300 Ultra: vivos Flagship Phone for Photography Enthusiasts with a 200MP Camera

First impressions of vivo's most powerful smartphone, the vivo X300 Ultra, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip that supports both still photography and video capture.

The vivo X300 Ultra is positioned as a smartphone designed for professional-level photo and video content creation. This model continues vivo's top-tier collaboration with ZEISS, integrating both lens hardware and image processing software. The phone is packed with high-end hardware specifications to support resource-intensive usage.

In terms of performance, the vivo X300 Ultra runs on Qualcomm's top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The tested model includes 1TB of internal storage and 16GB of RAM, expandable by an additional 16GB of virtual RAM. It also features a dedicated vivo Image Chip VS1+ specifically for managing photography and video processing.

The 6,600 mAh battery employs semi-solid-state technology and supports 100W wired fast charging as well as 40W wireless charging.

A key highlight is the rear camera system, which uses high-resolution sensors covering a wide range of focal lengths. The main 35mm camera employs a 1/1.12-inch Sony LYTIA 901 sensor with a 200-megapixel resolution and a Gimbal stabilization system.

Next is the telephoto camera, equipped with a 1/1.4-inch sensor at 200 megapixels. This lens includes a Gimbal OIS stabilization system compensating for up to 3 degrees of shake, and supports long-distance zoom through ZEISS Telephoto Extender technology. The 14mm ultra-wide camera uses a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 818 sensor with built-in OIS.

For video recording, the vivo X300 Ultra supports up to 4K resolution at 120fps in 10-Bit Log format, facilitating color grading in post-production.

However, a drawback observed during brief usage is that the device tends to heat up easily, especially when continuously shooting photos and videos, even over short periods.

The tested color variant is Steppe Green.
