
Apple introduces new features in iOS 27, boosting app launch speeds and enabling faster data transfers via AirDrop, alongside a revamped Liquid Glass interface.
At WWDC 2026, Apple officially announced the release of iOS 27. This major update focuses on enhancing overall performance and refining system stability for a more polished experience.
Apple stated that iOS 27 can launch applications up to 30 percent faster, while data and file transfers via AirDrop are now up to 80 percent quicker.
At the same time, all iPhone models currently running iOS 26 will be eligible for the iOS 27 update. This includes devices initially expected not to be supported further, such as the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and even the iPhone SE 2nd Gen, which will not be left behind.
Regarding design and interface, iOS 27 upgrades the Liquid Glass design by adding a transparency slider, allowing users to customize their screen's appearance to a greater extent.
Additionally, icons have been enhanced for sharper clarity and more pronounced depth by incorporating extra layers that refract light.
The search system has been completely overhauled with a new indexing method designed to boost the efficiency of Spotlight and search functions throughout the operating system.
The Mail app now features a new ranking system to help users find what they need with greater accuracy.
